Any object having a temperature above absolute zero produces infrared radiation. This radiation is invisible to the human eye but infra red image rs give us the ability to see into this realm of the electromagnetic spectrum. This inspection was conducted using an infrared therma I imager. Thermal Imaging systems have special detectors that are able to measure the heat radiated from your equipment in real time. The results are displayed in a graphic representation showing the distribution of temperature in the filed of view at the time of inspection. Identified problems or exceptions will indicate areas with poor connections, deteriorated insulation, unbalanced load or other conditions or signs or premature failure. It should be noted that abnormal conditions in electrical equipment can rapidly escalate according to load and amperage. Overheating can cause premature deterioration and costly unplanned failure of your equipment. Overheating connectors, conductors and components will never get better. In fact, the temperature and the rate of deterioration will increase with time. No one can predict when a failure will occur. As a result, we suggest that you use the Repair Comments Classification as a guide but that you investigate and correct every potential problem as soon as you can.

Repair Priority Classification

Each exception is given a Repair Priority Classification that is based on measured temperature standards that are referenced in the Guideline for Infrared Inspection of Electrical and Mechanical Systems. This information combined with input from your organization, will be used to determine how quickly you need to investigate and correct the potential problem.
